I just read Geirge's blog on worry and didn't want to horn in on his thoughts, so I'm writing my own blog on worry. I agree with what George says completely. I've learned in my 73+ years that worrying about things past and future does no good and most of what we worry about in the present doesn't happen anyway.

My husband and I produced four children, boy, girl, boy, girl. The oldest and youngest gave us the most to fret about in their teen years. Today, the oldest is living a productive life in Florida working as a copier technician. He and George would get along very well with gizmos and gadgets. He and his ex are better friends than they were spouses.

Our youngest became a Nurse Practioner and recently accepted a job that will bring her back to Nebraska and closer to us. She raised a daughter on her own, which is where I placed most of my worry. But Ashley has grown into a beautiful young woman, attending college where she excels academically and athletically.

She plays volleyball and runs the 4X400 relay, 600 meter indoor, and 800 meter indoor/outdoor.

Our other two went on to college and got degrees. Our oldest daughter has taught for 25 years. She and her husband are in the process of adopting a 6-year old boy that they have been fostering the past 4+ years. Our youngest son is a sales rep for an agriculture chemical company. He has two boys ages 8 and almost 5.

Except for the stroke, I am in good health. Except for age creeping up, my husband is in good health, also. We have managed our affairs well enough that we are secure financially. I am wheelchair bound, but am able to be at home and have parttime help Life is good. I do miss being able to get out and about, but I don't worry about it. We have accepted what has happened and are dealing with it.
