Passed the 3 year mark

Aussie Ken

Were have the last 3 years gone. i finally got more feeling back into my right hand side and more strenght my walking is getting better and looking forward to walking independantly, i don't think it will be long before i take off, because the other day i was doing laps in the hall way when my wife let go of me and i just kept on walking till she said wait on i'm not ready. i reckon if she hadn't said anything i would have made the 20 feet no worries. So its more mind over matter at the moment.

Well with easter upon us this weekend will be very quite as the kids are away at a scout camp so just my wife and myself to do what we want, we have a 4 day break, then the school holidays start for 2 weeks.

So have a great easter everybody.

hey Ken:

happy 3rd anniversary, I also passed my 3 year mark 2 months ago, life is different now but nonethless fun. glad you are doing great in your walking, I came from rehab using cane, but was determined not to use cane, so I never used it, and now officially not using AFO for more than 6-8 months.so downside is people still bump into me, and down I go.

happy easter.

Hey Ken--Congratulations on your walking! And for passing your 3rd Anniversary! I still use my walker but very little. I use it if I think I'm going to walk a long distance and I'm tired. I am coming to the conclusion that I use my walker for emotional support than anything else. So I am working on weaning myself off completely.

Asha, I, too, haven't used a cane. I refused to use it. So now I walk unaided and am working on good posture and pleasant facial expressions so that walking doesn't look too hard when I pass other people. I don't know if it looks like I plastered a "Smiley" face on or not. :) Take care, all. LK

Hope you had a nice quiet Easter Ken. We did as I decided the only place I would take the car would be to church on Sunday. We did have two lots of visitors and quite a few phone calls but I still managed to catch up on some of the backlog of chores here.

You keep positive about the walking alone and one day it will just happen. It is going over and over the exercise etc that seems to make something switch on again inside your brain. Ray stood by the sink and dried the dishes today, first time since the fall he hasn't asked for a chair to sit down on. So things do change for the better.

Sue.
