STARTING A NEW CHAPTER!!!

:happydance: AS I POSTED IN THE COMMUNITY DISCUSSION, RACHEL HAS STARTED A NEW JOB. WE'RE SO VERY PROUD OF HER. SHE WORKS ONE DAY A WEEK AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT SETTING UP THE TABLES. SHE ROLLS THE SILVERWARE IN NAPKINS AND PUTS OUT THE SUGAR.

SHE DOES THESE THINGS WITH ONE HAND. :Clap-Hands: THIS GIVES RACHEL SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO. WE FEEL BLESSED TO HAVE FRIENDS THAT WERE WILLING TO GIVE RACHEL A CHANCE. ONE OF THE OWNERS WAS RACHELS PAST PHYSICAL THERAPIST.

Wow, you must be proud of Rachel, a lot of girls with her disabilities wouldn't atempt a job. I am thankful every day for the people who give disadvantaged young people a chance to work, hold down a job, get the training they need etc so they can feel a part of the community again.

Soon there will be other steps for Rachel as she returns to her old life and maybe a little more freedom for you too. I did a lot of waitressing as I paid my way through high school too so I know what it is like, she will be very tired at the end of the day.

(((Hugs))) to you both from Sue.

Lisa,

That is so SUPER for Rachel and for the family. Yes, Rachel is starting a new chapter and it's great that she was given the opportunity to do this. Who knows were it could lead for her.

My continued best wishes.

Kudos and Accolades to Rachel! The last (3) weeks I stayed w/ my best friend while my son and DIL went to Turkey. (I was suppose to stay for one week but ended up staying for the full (3) weeks). My friend owns her own business and I answered the phones for her, on a volunteer basis. It was fun and I loved going into work each day. Of course, she gave me a hard time, telling me I was a slacker because I had to go "home" around 2pm to take a nap :) Then she teased me, accusing me of waking up just in time for cocktail time! It was a lot of fun working w/ her and I realized how much I missed working.

I stayed one weekend w/ my youngest son and when he complained about returning to work on Monday, I realized how much I wanted to go back to work. My son, BTW, loves his job.

What a boost this is for Rachel. I think satisfaction and happiness helps our healing along. You go, Girl! Take Care. LK
