Damp weather

Well I am learning more and more about this Blogging. The damp and dreery weather got me down a little but I bounced back. The shorter days and dark coming early also has taken a toll. Is anyone else out there affected by bad weather? My wife says I am mental to be exasperated by seasonal change and weather. :head_hurts:

John,

You are not mental being affected by changes in the weather. For me, "normal" aches/pains/feelings associated with changes in the weather, have increased post-stroke.

With me, it's not mental but physical. I walk into things.

AS for the dark later in am and early in pm, I hate it, especially the mornings when there is fog. Personally I think that there should be more changes during the winter months. The school kids must wait in the dark for the buses. Was dumb when they did away with local schools, and yet the campuses and facilities of the larger schools are pretty nice. I think if they change the time every 2 months from Oct to April, it would help some.

OK off my soapbox.

John, there is even a name for this, it is called Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD for short.

There isn't a cure but it helps to get out into whatever sunlight is available, get to a shopping mall where there are bright lights or take vitamins to boost your immune system I always take B Complex through winter as that seems to help.

Find a hobby to keep you going through winter and the time seems to go faster. I knit, sew, crochet etc, Ray does word puzzles, watches tv and snoozes. We all cope in different ways.

Failing that - fly south to Australia and enjoy two summers a year.

Sue.

Thanks Sue, my wife bought me a light that simulates daylight. It seems to help but only spring will cure me.
