the Pepe saga continues

So by yesterday evening after not having heard from Pepe LePew, I gave in and clung in desperation to the old apron strings in fear that he may have defected, joined the foreign legion, or run off aimlessly chasing a lovely feline with French parfum and a white stripe painted down her back. After having contacted the surprising teacher, I learned that Marc seems to be having a problem with his cell phone, which he has attempted to rectify but could not. So we will try to fix the problem from here or ship him a new one. The bright side is it prevented him from ringing up $2,500 in charges like he did on his last trip and he'll be sure to return ~ survival in life depends on that phone. And I thought being told at 10 pm on a work night that cupcakes were needed for the next day was bad.

you are so funny. I bet teacher did not figure out your desperation of clinging to apron for a while.

maria, i never wanted my boys to leave home either, i loved having them around. i can't wait for my oldest marc to move back here next month. our job is to raise them to be on their own and to do well. i'm sure your son will have a great time in france and what an opportunity for him. you will worry and miss him. i bet the phone bill will be higher than normal, lol. did you get any info on the family he is staying with, i'm sure they will watch over him well. i think thats the way it goes for exchange students.

Maria,

I'm glad you can rest a bit easier knowing the "why" you're not hearing from Marc. As Kimmie said, I'm sure the host family is watching over him. Hope the phone issue gets resolved but that the phone bill doesn't resemble the national debt.

maria,

my daughter was an exchange student who went to okinawa. my son just informed me he wants to sign up for the program at his high school. i was okay when my daughter left but i was concerned. she had a great time! your emotional roller coaster ride is teaching me to prepare for when i have to loosen the apron strings.

Thank you guys for your replies and support.

When there's a will there's a way and of course always a motive. After resetting his phone to the European towers he called to say this is such a great experience he's considering the

multi-cultural exchange program. My husband's response was try considering the Peace Corp because after this the only excursion he's financing is bus fare to their office to sign up. My next blog may be from Rahway State Prison.
