TEDDY HAS A GIRLFRIEND
Teddy has pretty much chased all the rabbits away, but he still finds one occasionally. He can spend up to an hour sitting or laying down in the grass waiting for the chance to chase a rabbit. Fortunately, until yesterday, he will not go out for a long time until it gets cooler in the late afternoon. Yesterday was the hottest day so far this year (96), Teddy wanted to go out. He only spent about 15 mins outside and was ready to go back in. He wasn't inside for very long until he started getting under my feet. That usually means he is hungry, or he wants to go outside. I gave him some food, but not long afterwards, he was back under my feet again. This time I knew he wanted to go outside. It was still 93, but I took him out. He stayed out for maybe 20 mins and then back inside. Luckily, it was late enough to where he was satisfied and stayed inside for the rest of the day.
He actually did very well when the fireworks started going off. Maybe he felt safe since Daddy was with him.
He is doing better with other dogs. He used to be very aggressive towards any dog, but he is a lot better. He found himself a girlfriend. A Shitz shu ( I hope that is how it is spelled). She is younger and more energetic than Teddy and likes to get him to chase her. So far it is just flirting, but Teddy does like her. He will sit by her door waiting or looking for her. It is really cute.
On Thursday I started to put on my KAFO for therapy and it literally started falling apart. Several more screws fell out. I was supposed to go to the VA later in the day to pick up my new wheelchair. I took my brace just in chase the Orthotist could fix it, but I had to set up an appointment (surprise surprise), unfortunately, it is set for Monday at 0600!!! :Argh:
I really have to go that early because my therapists may discharge me at the end of the month. I am walking fairly good. I have been walking outside and doing car transfers. I have been walking to meals and was even able to walk all the way from the dining room to my room without having to stop and rest! :happydance:
I did get my new wheelchair. I like to call it my 'vato lowrider' because it is a basic black with lime green trim. It actually looks good.It does have different type of wheels and I think I need to get some gloves.
In 20 days I will 'celebrate' my 4th anniversary of my stroke.
