I'm so lazy...

I really want some cheesecake... but not bad enough to get dressed and go buy milk (which I need to anyway, I'll be all out tomorrow!), and then mix it up, and then wait 2 hours for it to set! LOL I'll just suffer.

Finally thought of something I could write about! Some people think I'm weird and crazy, but... I like staying in the hospital. Except for paying the bill afterward, it's not so bad! Here's my reasoning:

You don't have to cook meals. You don't have to wash dishes after meals. You don't have to clean the bathroom. You don't have to make the bed. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want - such as TV, reading a book, handcrafts like knitting or cross-stitch (if you're able to move your hands, anyway. If not, it can get pretty boring with just TV! But I've never had that problem.)

The biggest reason, I think, is that I feel secure. If something happens, there's professionals right there and ready to fix it. I don't have to wait to be driven to the hospital. They don't need to "waste" time gathering all my information from various resources...it's usually right there in my chart, when I'm inpatient.

Granted, there are plenty of risks and dangers. I've heard that hospitals are the 'dirtiest' places in the world, with all the germs, bacteria, viruses and so many sick people crammed into one place. I've never had problems with getting infections "on the side". I had pneumonia once, but that's the reason I was in the hospital in the first place.

Everybody likes to get pampered and have somebody else take care of them. Okay, so it's not exactly a health spa, but it's still a nice break from living at home and having to do everything yourself, once in a while! :)

See how odd my logic is!

I get your point, but the food is awful! When I was in the hospital I kept choosing the low cal meals because they were the most appetizing. The medical staff kept suggesting I choice options with the awful canned gravy. They were afraid of weight loss. Also, I did not like the option of now being able to go outside.

Each to there own. :D

I am glad that atleast someone appreciates being in hospital. I think I did not mind being in hospital when gave birth to my son.

You could be pampered at home, but you would have to hire someone to come in and cook and clean everyday. It wouldn't be quite as pricey as being in the hospital and you wouldn't be surrounded by sick people.

I have that arrangement since I am unable to do those things anymore. I have someone help me dress and bathe and my husband does the cooking. But, to be honest, I wish I could do all those things again.

Viv,

You do have a point lol but I'll pass and stay home I hope. Years back (long before stroke) I was in hospital overnight for exploratory surgery. The care AND food were phenomenal. Family jokingly referred to it as the "sicky hilton". The month I was in rehab post stroke was a nightmare - definitely not the sicky hilton lol. I got better to be able to leave and return home.

lwiseman - I'm usually in a children's hospital, and their food is actually decent. I don't have specialized meals, other than "eat all you want", because I need to gain weight! I couldn't go outside either... heart telemetry didn't have a signal strong enough to wander. But I don't go out much at home, either! Windows suffice LOL

Mema - Eh, I could have my dad do most everything for me. But he already tends a grandson, and I'm just too nice anyway ;)
