This is a new experience for me. I am not sure what I am doing so please excuse me.

I am trying to come to terms with the changed me. I am a very busy person usually and want a quick fix to feel well and fully fit to return to work, but it doesnt seem to be much improvement in my foggy head.

if you find a quick fix to feel well; please don't hesitate to share it. i've been looking fir 5 months and hard work is the only thing I have found that has produced any significant results.

Like Wesley H. said if you find a quick fix let me know also. It's been 3 years for me since my stroke. If there is any advice from me I would say for you to find a new normal. This was on Oprah show one day, "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired". I keep busy by going to my senior center. I am the youngest person there so I am always being told what a nice person I am. I just have always liked older people. My newe girlfriend is 87 this month. I was 58 when I joined. I needed socializing. I was home by myself for 10 hours a day so needed to get out. The center picks me up and drops me off for nothing. Good luck with the new you and hope to see you on chat.

It's gonna take time, lots of time but it does get better! Well, you got started. That's the main thing and you will enjoy blogging and expressing yourself, plus reading blogs from others.

Anne,

You're doing just fine so there's no need to be excused. You'll come to see the great comfort of this place is that we all know that heart wrenching feeling you're having of just wanting your life back. You had everything ripped out from under you in the blink of an eye and if you could just shake this whole thing like a bad case of the flu, you could get on with your life. Unfortunately as much as it feels like that, it doesn't work that way with this. There is no quick fix for this and you don't just shake it. It's a long hard recovery road back, but you do get there. Blogging will help you work through your feelings greatly as will getting involved on the site. We've all been there and are happy to help by offering encouragement and support to you along the way.

hi Anne:

welcome to wonderful world of blogging. as everyone said there is no quick fix to getting your old life back. my life changed at age 34, and after solid 2 years of grieving I have come to terms with new me. & to tell you the truth I like the newme better than oldme. agreed I had to reinvent my whole life. but 4 years post stroke today at age 38, I am happy with my life. everyday I am able to appreciate beauty of life surrounding me.

Hi Anne,

Welcome to the blog community. Look forward to reading your blog entries. By all means if you find the "miracle cure" share it. I am 4 years post and have found, for me, it's vital to Keep on Keeping on and to Let Go Let God. Some days are easier than others, the bad days due lessen as time goes on.
