William has had 5 weeks of lokomat therapy. He is going 2 miles an hour and the physical therapist hopes to have him carrying 100% of his weight by the end of the therapy. 6 more sessions. We shall see.

I asked her about his AFO. She suggested some changes. Since his left foot drags...she suggested that I take his shoe to shoe repair and remove the tread from the left shoe ...from the toe to the ball of the foot. and replace it with leather. This will decrease the friction on the bottom of the tennis shoe. This is a novel idea.

I had William walk around the truck on Sat and Sunday. I move his left leg and he walks with his quad cane and holding onto the truck. I still have to help move his leg. But, This is what the therapist wants. i need to help him walk as much as possible.

Wow, the five weeks went by quickly. They probably didn't to you or William but I recall when he started. How do you feel he has done? After I did my volunteer studies, I asked family members to accompany me and give me their thoughts. I did this along with the PTs. They were able to offer some additional insight as to how I could continue to improve in my daily life.

William is so fortunate to have you actively involved as his caregiver. It makes a huge difference and early on can help so with his recovery journey.

That's great for William, I need more walking myself cause some mornings my leg feels like it weighs 400 pounds.
