I need to walk in church....

Can you believe this? William wants to walk in church. This wasn't possible today. HE had a cargiver with him. Next week I will bring the hemi-walker and see what we can do.

I do believe that the Lokomat helped....If for no other reason than ..William realizes that we need to practice walking in the house. Now, it is commn place to walk from the bed to the recliner and from the bed to the bathroom. Walking is with the hemi walker and my assistance.

I move his left leg and he does the rest.

Yesterday, He is waiting for me next to the bed and he takes his hand off the hemiwalker and puts it in his pocket to get his phone out. He just doesn't realize he was just standing without any support.

Progress is just slow. BUt, it is coming along.

That's great, his mind is telling him he can do it. May I suggest a quad cane, the one I had when I came to your house. It stands alone giving me time to use my right hand. It doesn't take as much room as the hemi walker, not as heavy either.

Ruth:

great news, encourage him. walking in church when it's empty sounds like great idea, do it as soon as possible and update us.

Ruth: I am so excited for you and William. What a great thing. Balance is so huge and he is getting comfortable with his adaptive devices and his weaknesses. Ruth just the fact that he wants to do impresses me and you know why. He's going to be sliding that left foot along soon, I just know it. I'd take him to every church in town-lol. Talk to you tomorrow. Debbie
