Finally did something I have been wanting to do

We had a beautiful weekend for a change. Some are still recovering from the tornado but thankfully no deaths here. Most of us have basements and that helped. I decided to take Larry for a little day trip to the Missouri Botanical Gardens Friday. He had exercise in the morning but I let him eat lunch and then rest a while. The weather was gorgeous so off we went. The gardens are the oldest in the country and have a lot of recognition all over. The handicapped places were all taken but Larry was able to walk from the lot. I knew he would not be able to walk around, so I was able to get a wheelchair and pushed him all around the gardens. The azaleas were still blooming but we missed the thousands of tulips and dogwood trees had already bloomed. There was a helpful attendant who helped him use the bathroom facilities in the end and then waited with him outside while I got the car. Whew! I was sweating and tired after but it was worth it. I think Larry enjoyed it too knowing how much I have missed visiting the gardens. It seems I have been hit by so many things coming up lately. I took our cat, Lucy, to the vet for her checkup and then had to give her antibiotics for her gums. The vet wants to clean and maybe pull a tooth or two, but I have put that on the back burner. Last week the microscopic ants appeared in my kitchen again this year and I have been fighting them off. I have a pest control company coming Tuesday. Tomorrow I go to the plastic surgeon to see about this little skin cancer on my outer nose by my cheek. :yucky: The skin cancer doctor will take it off and then I go to the plastic surgeon the next morning for repair work. I don't mind the surgery (not too much) but it's getting a caregiver for Larry, then getting someone to take me. I will be at both doctors for several hours. Somehow, I will get it done. I know others have a lot more to handle than I do. It looks like spring is here so hip hip hooray. :cheer: :cocktail:

It is the little things we do because we want to do them that give us satisfaction. I love to go to the sensory gardens and just walk around for a while. Even pushing the chair is not a problem when you are drinking in that gorgeous scenery.

Enjoy your spring and summer as much as you can, gives you wonderful memories if there are darker days ahead.

Julie: I am so happy you and Larry made it to the Gardens. I know you were so looking forward to it and your weather the past two weeks has been so horrible, I am glad you are finally getting a break. Sounds like a perfectly lovely day and yes, as Sue suggests, you will get through the week just remembering your lovely day. Good week and talk to you Tuesday. Debbie
