I felt peaceful while I was stroking and unafraid of what was happening. Then I realized what was damaged and then what was lost. Then I found the deepest well of sorrow from experiencing watching my own death from a side chair. Now I am alive and fight and live in this moment. I look for the meaning of my life and spirituality around me. I enjoy meeting new people. I navigate the culture of being a patient. I am a new being now mostly struggling to be loved and understood in a nursing home institution. I count my blessings and share my stories.
