  3. Hi Rick, If any of us were to stop and think we would all be depressed, confused and scared but i am sure i am not alone in saying i rarely think about it. I live my life looking forward. I had a huge brainstem bleed out of the blue five years ago and last week i celebrated my 60th birthday, which i never thought i would. I am now looking forward to my 70th. Take care, Mike
  4. The bond between child and parent is much stronger than in marraige, when i had my stroke my wife was quite matter of fact she said very clearly she did not want me back. Do not believe all this rubbish that something has to be wrong before the stroke for the partner to leave, not in all cases. In the hospital a vicars wife said again for all to hear, she did not want him home, i can give you any number of cases. My elder daughters did not even have to be asked but very clearly said we want to be with you and they still are. They look after me through the mood swings and are understanding beyond their years. The oldest one goes off to university, still staying at home, next year to be followed the next year by her sister. I think i am truly blessed to have two lovely daughters, pity i did not choose my wife with such care.
  5. hello there, every one of us who have had a stroke have beaten the grim reaper at least once, what is there to be afraid of, for us survivors nothing. For our relatives and carers so long as they are taken care of we can do no more. If we are going to die it is unlikely that we will know or can do anything about it, so, why worry. It is no good when the time comes and the shout of COME IN NUMBER 7 is heard it will be no good saying, not today Lord, so why worry Mike
