Count down

So the countdown begins.

Tuesday night is my cyber Bachelorette party on Caregiver Chat. I had Ermalinda wash my Leopard print silk PJs just for the event. The beauty of the internet. Good thing we aren't Skyping - LOL.

Three weeks ago on a Tuesday, I brought the truck in for its oil change. Saturday morning, it will not start. I call our dear Carl to come see. I don't want to call a tow truck for something stupid. Carl goes over the whole engine, opens the air filter box - and this was not easy. Air filter is enclosed in a plastic box that really locks together. In there was a whole bunch of leaves, which Carl cleans out, cleans off the air filter and puts all back together. Then both of us get under the truck. That is when Carl said have your shocks checked. When the tow truck lifted our truck, some gas spilled out on the driveway. I get a call that mice have eaten through the fuel line. Monday night Chris and I pick the truck up. Bruce and I have spent weeks collecting points towards gas, so we can get both vehicles filled up and ready to go for the big week. On Thursday, we go to fill up the truck and the gas goes out on the ground. Great, now I just lost my gas points. Seems the little buggers lived in the air filter and also ate through the rubber collar to the fuel tank. So truck is now back and we still have to fill up both vehicles this week, with no gas points.

Thursday we went off to Staples for 2013 Day planner, calendars and some nice Thank you notes. Friday afternoon was the serious grooming. Today I gave the final count to the restaurant and the table layout. Bruce's caregivers are working on their own list, along with help from me, on house cleaning. LOL they are a great bunch. Told me to wash the bathroom rugs and leave them. I am not to use them this week. LOL. Friends and family have been stopping in and calling, asking how they can help, so it has been nice being able to pass off some chores.

Bill, Bob and I had to meet on my trust with the Financial Advisor. This is to protect Bruce if something happens to me. And I am looking over policies for Medigap for Bruce. There is a lot of help here on that and as I get into it, will certainly post any questions I have. Monday Bruce has dentist and Thursday we have hairdresser. Mary and girls are due in Thursday night.

Tomorrow groceries and cooking for the week.

I can't believe how into all of this Bruce is. Discusses everything with me and has an opinion on everything - LOL. He has my notebook now on his table - LOL. This is good therapy, cognitively and also a reaffirmation of our relationship.

I hope Melissa and Scotty can get me on line with the pix. If not, I will Email to those I have. Please do join us Tuesday night, should be a lot of fun. Debbie

That goes to say only one side of the brain of any survivor is damaged and we can still think and be concerned in family matters and beyond! Unless of course we had more than one stroke!!!

Oh Debbie you gotta get them rats some food that gas is gonna kill them maybe even sterilize them?

I'll bet Bruce could drive now if he could control his leg and hand if he really had to cause his mind is good and he fully understands and already do stuff in the kitchen and probably any where else he wants to get things done on his own!!!

Another stroke survivor said that!!

darn mice--- destructive little buggers arent they ??? take a whole bunch of "bounce" fabric sofner sheets and put them every where in the car-- and if you can find a SAFE place under the hood there to... even if only for a few days -- the smell repells them.... people around here swear by it...

Debbie,

I am getting excited just reading about the pending wedding date.

I am so glad to hear that Bruce is really excited about this also. What great therapy.

See you on Tuesday.

Debbie, where is Kira when you need her with those darn mice? lol What a nuisance!

You sound like everything is coming together and Bruce is onboard with it all. I'm sure all will be wonderful.

I'm glad you changed the dress code to "comfy casual" as now I can wear my "silky PJ's" which are pink and white! LOL SUCH FUN!

Darn computer! I posted a response on here earlier and now it's not here! Oh well i'll do it again. LOL! Debbie I am so glad you are wearing pj's to the chat party now I don't have to have Mike look at me like I am crazy for sitting here on the computer all dressed up! I got margaritas already mixed and ready to go! Or I could wear my black slinky nitie? That would make for some fun after the party here at home! ;) Gonna be a blast on here Tuesday night! Oh and Fred so what if the gas kills the little suckers. If it were me I would put them a bowl of rat poison under the hood and let them gnaw on that for a little while! I hate those things! Love and Prayers to all!

Thank you all. It is going to be a fun night. And Asha, you are not crashing. With all the help and advice you have given me over the years, I want you there! There really can't be any crashers - we are all family.

Nancy, thank you on the tip. I will have Carl stick some in the air filter thing, if it is safe. Is it just Bounce honey, or any sheet softener?

Julie, Mary Beth said the same thing about Kira - LOL. But she has no front claws, so other than chasing them around, she couldn't do much damage and now she has teeth missing! I don't think she is much of a mouser anyway, she would get "dirty" LOL.

Cat, you are very naughty! LOL. So, see you all there. Debbie
