Countin' Chickens

I could just be countin' my chickens before they're hatched but the weather man says we're in line for two to six inches of snow between tonight and tomorrow night. First of all, Just about any Marylander would roll their eyes at even bothering to give six inches a second thought and the rest of them would laugh at me for giving a second thought to what the weatherman says!

Still, I was living in Houston Texas when I had my stroke, and last Winter in Maryland was unseasonably warm. I haven't experienced my first post stroke snow yet and the thought of it has my little brain in overdrive. I can't say I'm worried or scared because my thoughts drift anywhere from, "I'll be fine", to "I'll be fine because I ain't going out there!"

There is no sensible reason I "need" to go outside but that;s just the time people where I live think they're going to die if they don't go and what's sensible never stood in my way before...oh well.

Then my mind drifts to my stroke friends in this storm's path and I hope you're all really careful and then remember you've dealt with it before and probably aren't worried a bit. Well, be careful anyway...I'll be inside thinking hiding from the big, bad snowflakes!

I won't even bother to plow the driveway out with two-six inches of snow. : ) (Well maybe if no wind) This winter is crappy. One day it's 19 degrees and the next day we get up in the 50's. Everyone at work is sick, got over it, getting sick again. I have a bad sinus infection. Trying to tough it out. Not working well. I think I will invest in a government surplus flame thrower ( they have to have one laying around) and use that to take care of my drive way . This way I can melt the snow and keep a little warn at the same time. Beats getting on the tractor and freezing my butt off. Hmm... that might work.

You gotta figure the snow will fall in big portions this winter or be cold longer than usual. It seem to be a big bad winter season this year already to me! It's very cold here and could snow too. This is unusual for central Texas. Like you say indoors is your place to be singing "Let it snow, let it snow"

Here in Ohio we had a snow the first week in January and I have to get out and to the barn to feed the goats--thank goodness 2 years ago we got a 4 wheel drive pickup truck so I didn't have to walk the lane. I only worry about falling because of the blood thinners--and I am such a klutz. Hope you had good holidays and here's to a great new year!

I have had trouble logging onto this site, so I'm way behind on how everyone is doing.
