My wife's Birthday

Yesterday, July 9th, was my wife's 62nd birthday which she enjoyed very well. She came home from work at 6 pm and wanted to eat out at Applebee's restaurant so we took our grand daughter too and she ate good and enjoyed being out to eat for a change!! Normally I go pick up food for all of us when my wife get home or having it here when she get home!!

Today she has Praise dance practice at church so she will stop after her practice and get her a bite to eat I'm sure!! We'll find something or I will go pick up something for all of us to eat because she doesn't get home from practice until around 9 pm!! My grand daughter has piano practice on Thursdays so I will figure out something as I usually do on these days!!

Right now we are thinking to make the planned trip to Vegas later this month or even next month now since some other things has changed! I didn't realize her baby sister in New Orleans and her hubby were making the trip too with us!! I had no idea and hadn't asked so all things will have to be moved back so all of us can get there at the same time!! That could be a good thing since July is a well traveled month for going to Vegas and to Reno Nevada too! I know from the past times it will be very hot at that time in Vegas!!

I think bowling tournaments will be taking place at that time too if I remember correctly from my past times when I was bowling everywhere!!! We never go see shows at the casinos I hat to sit still that long plus the shows are pretty expensive!!! I think we, my wife and I, love to walk the strip and shop then visit the casinos and the dinning rooms where the meals are reasonable as I remember from years gone by!!

Happy Birthday to your wife! That's nice you were able to take your grandaughter along too!

A trip to Vegas sounds very nice, except the hot weather! I always thought a show would be nice, but your probably right--very expensive though. A nice bonus that your wife's sister and hubby going along too. Should be a wonderful trip!

Happy Birthday to your wife. I love to hear about her. Praise dancing - now there is a way to praise God for His goodness to you both.I know you will enjoy your trip whenever you go so the company of your wife's sister and her husband will be a bonus. Enjoy life every day Fred, that is a bonus too.

Hey, she came in from work and read the replies you all made wishing her a happy birthday, she is a very happy soul right now!!! She didn't know for sure her sister wanted to go to Vegas until now but listen they both are gamblers, working every day and love to play the penny machines in New Orleans and anywhere else for that matter!!

Our daughter came in from work out on the military base and had a flat/blowout tire on her car so there went my Firestone card to get her another tire or two tonight cause she has to be at work in the morning at 7 am and I'm scheduled for a haircut!! You can see how I stay busy with all women in the house and a few problems from time to time!!!

Guess I don't have much time to worry about very much else except my grand daughter but she will be starting a religious school again pretty soon in the 6th grade!!! I can't leave her at home alone so she is on the go with me for breakfast to supper time since we don't work!!!

Thanks again for your comments and birthday wishes!!!

Fred, so glad to hear your wife had a happy birthday. I'm glad you are going to be meeting family in Vegas and can all have fun together. Just a word of warning, the meals are no longer cheap in Vegas like in years past...........in fact it's been quite a few years since they were "cheap." We stopped at a burger place in Harrah's on Father's Day, since Gary was tired and none of us felt like eating at the buffet - which was higher priced because of a holiday and we knew we couldn't eat enough to get our money's worth. Five of us had hamburgers w/fries and a few had a side salad and was well over $110.00 plus tip. I think even the fast-food places are higher on the strip, so not sure where you would find a cheap meal. Might be better off to get room with a kitchenette and eat there. Sarah

Thanks Sarah, we haven't been to Vegas in years and we got married in Reno in 1998 so we went through Vegas at that time! I know prices has changed now and everything cost more these days! We will be careful where and how we spend so I don't have to pawn something to get back home or pay for the use of the scooter for me !!!

I think she has all the spending fees figured out or in her budget for this trip!!! I remember my very first time going to Vegas, man, I said to myself, where has this place been all my life?? I'll leave here a rich man!!! Well, I left there a very broke man, I lost my rent money, my car note money and gas money to get back home in San Francisco!!!

Now being older I know how to go there and play, have fun, and STAY with my planned budget!!! No ATM machine use, no check writing, no credit card charges or use, no bills to pay when I return home!!! That alone makes for a great Vegas vacation when you plan ahead how much CASH to carry with you and stick to the plans you make!!!!!!

That's why I said, no shows are in my budget and my slot machine playing limits are in my pocket when that's gone I can walk past slot machines and they don't call out my name!!!!! On the other hand I usually win quite a bit on the quarter machines every where I play!!!!

Hi Fred, sorry I am late, wish your wife a late Happy Birthday, please you went out for a meal with your grand baby. I know my grandkids love eating out!

Please that you got a budget for your trip, the first time i went to a casino, I lost my mind! my husband was trying to tell me he did not feel well, and I needed to slow down with the money! I gave him a look................ then told him to get a cup of coffee and go sit down! Not nice. Iam over that now!!

Enjoy Fred, be safe, let us know when you get back, and break the bank! LOL
