St Patricks day celebration

It's been a long winter

The town I live in has an annual St. Patrick's Day celebration the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day

It's a great deal of fun mostly seeing people who have all been cooped up inside the last five months

I encountered my oldest daughter's fourth grade teacher to start the celebration

The conversation went on with her needing hip replacement surgery and how she is difficult time taking a shower because she can't step over the edge of the tub and I told her that we still have a shower bench that we know longer need it was given to me now it's my turn to pass iton to someone else in need

I ran into another daughter of mine and my son-in-law and we went up at a pizza place where I ran into a number of kids that went to school with my daughter I haven't been hugged that much in a long time it was an amazing day to be able to be out celebrating St. Patrick's Day and see so many people having fun

Once again I have to think God for sending me the the good doctors and the excellent therapist that worked with me post stroke so that I m am able to walk and enjoy the festivities of a day like today

Passing your old disability aids on to others is a great idea.   I gave a lot of Ray's gear away after he died and the next door neighbour uses the shower bench in our shower room to shower his old father who lives with him so that retains it's usefulness.

Being able to "get out" means so much to any survivor, I'm not walking good yet but I use my scooter every where I go and I'm able to drive too so I don't feel locked in but this week my grand daughter is home on spring break, so we'll find something to do for St Patrick's Day for sure....
