The Calm between the Storms

There was one thing I forgot to mention about this past weekend as described in the previous post. I was prescribed Plavix as an anti-platelet medication. That will come into play later.

I have gotten you through that harrowing weekend. I picked up a copy of the MRI and two CT Scans from the hospital and went off to see my Neurologist. In the previous post, the neuro on call looked over the CT Scans and MRI and didn't see anything.

I get to my neurologist and he looks over the SAME CT Scans and MRI and pointed to one of the frames on the MRI and said, "That is not normal." He was pointing to a 'spot' showing that I indeed have a stroke, albeit a minor one with no physical side effects.

He looked over the notes from my previous ER visit including the regular Echocardiogram, decided to order a Cervical MRA and a TEE to try to see if there were any blockages in the arteries in the back of my neck (the corodoid arteries had been verified as clear by ultrasound previously) or if there were anything structurally wrong with my heart. Both of these turned out not to show anything which is good.

I start back to work the following day. My outage was pretty much over which is something I was glad. Better news was my company had to hire a "highly paid consultant" to perform the duties I had been doing. biggrin2.gif

I am pretty much fat, dumb and happy right now. That will soon change as you see in the next installment of this ongoing saga.
