Whew!! Glad that is over or Happy Groundhog Day..
As you all probably read in my dw southernlady's blog, she was diagnosed as having a "Frozen Shoulder". She appears to be doing better after a cortizone shot. There will be Physical Therapy in her future. Life is looking up on that front.
I came home yesterday and found a phone message from my company's Disability Management person. She told me the 'expected me to return to work this week'. She also said she had talked with my supervisor.
I decided to call my supervisor and see if he had heard the same message. He said he had heard from this person but 'she had not given a specific date for me to return to work'. He told me that they (my management team) are looking for this as a longer term project.
Yesterday was a significant for me in other ways as well. Yesterday was the first day in 5 years I did not have unescorted access in a nuclear power plant. For those of you who are not familiar with these types of plants, they do not give unescorted access to just anyone. You have to be fingerprinted (Yes, my fingerprints are onfile with the FBI), have a thorough background check (credit and criminal checks are done), psychological testing is performed to ensure you do not 'go postal' while they are there. Once you pass all of that, you have to go through an explosives detector and metal detector every time you go inside where the plant itself is located. And everyday, you are greeted by very nice security personnel along with their semi-automatic weapons.
Happy Groundhog Day! Tell us Punxsutawney Phil, How's the weather?
