LIKE EVERYBODY, I'M IN VOGUE BECAUSE I HAVE A CPAP MACHINE FOR SLEEP APNEA. I DON'T HAVE THE NOSE MASK BECAUSE I CAN'T KISS MY WIFE WHILE TRYING TO STAY ALIVE FALLING ASLEEP. I HAVE THE NEW ONE THAT FITS IN THE NOSTRILS.

THERE IS A RUBBERY THIN BAND THAT FITS AROUND THE HEAD TO HOLD THE APARATUS IN YOUR NOSE. THIS BAND STRETCHES AFTER CONSTANT USE AND BECOMES USELESS. SO I WENT TO THE HOSPITAL GOODIE SUPPLY STORE TO GET A REPLACEMENT BAND. WELL, THEY DON'T SELL REPLACEMENTS. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET A NEW ONE IS TO BUY THE WHOLE NOSTRIL SET-UP. THIS 5 CENT PIECE WAS NOW GOING TO COST $217.00.

AS THE INTELLIGENT, GUM CHEWING, BUXOM, SUPER INTELLIGENT CLERK REMINDED ME, "WHY SHOULD I CARE, MEDICARE PICKS UP THE TAB". NOW, I'M NOT THE ONE TO WASTE $216.95, SO I FOUND A PLACE THAT GAVE ME ONE AT MY PRICE. ZERO.

I WONDER HOW MUCH MEDICARE IS WASTED EVERY DAY? NEVER MIND, I CAN JUST IMAGINE.

Marty,

Making replacement parts that sell as units is wide spread. I put a quarter size hole in a tailight lense but you can't buy just a lense anymore. I had to have whole tailight assembly unit for $175 plus installation.

Your nose piece story is unreal. Where are their cost control guys? And why can't we find a phone number to complain about stuff like this?

MARTY,

IT'S ALL A GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY, OR DIDN'T YOU KNOW?

P.S GLAD YOU FOUND YOUR PRICE.

Marty,

Thats our government, they hire these people, give them a desk, pens and the check book. Most of them couldn't tell you their supervisor's name. Once they are there a while, get a couple kickbacks sent to their homes, they are hooked and won't get caught for years to come.

Firing government employees takes an act of congress. Look at the mess FEMA, Red Cross and the military is facing. The Army supply channels were good at paying $30 or more for a screwdriver or $80 for a plain hammer.

The scooter company tried to get my insurance to pay $4,001 for a scooter that cost $1,350. I refused to sign it.

You know. I just found out that the original Medicare Act required that all States have a Medicare QA contract that has a "plan" for each State - AND that this sort of thing is what I understand they would investigate. Course I don't have any idea of how to find more out about this... and I'm a bit too tired to go digging around on the web. Just thought it might be of interest that there may be a place to go with this.
