What would you do?

This is going to be a fun blog and I hope for some participation. Thinking is good for the brain - as is humor. I will give you the situation.

You are to meet 2 people that you have spoken to on the telephone only. The location is a small airport (private) and you are to meet in the restaurant that is there. One person is older and the other an adult child (same sex). It seems so simple that neither party suggests how they will meet. No further description, no red roses worn, - nothing. OK, how would you decide what to do? Who should make the first contact etc.

I'm interested in seeing how people who are alike in at least one way but really so very different would react in this situation.

Let your mind go wild. :roflmao:

Lets assume it is a father son combo, their name is Smith. I'd walk in ask the hostess or bartender to page them, or I'd call their cell and walk towards the sound of the cell phone ringing. Assuming of course they had a cell.

Otherwise it would take forever to peruse all the patrons and look for an older and younger version.

It was a father and son and they do have cell phones. There is no real hostess or bartender.; it was an informal small place. It wouldn't have worked anyway because they hadn't arrived yet. (private plane) Would have maybe worked with the situation you mentioned in a larger setting with regularly scheduled flights. I will put what actually happened later. Hint: I'm strange.

.

Why not hold up a sign saying, "looking for so and so"? Or you could wear a name tag and let them find you. You could also take a quick look around the restaurant and finding no father-son combination, then wait at the door until you see a father-son combination come in. If it's a small airport how many of those could there be to approach? This would never happen in real life---not asking how to recognize each other unless they've exchanged photos already.

As I have never been the shy/backwards type of person, I'd hold up a sign with their names on it. I would stay near the entrance of the restaurant to make it easier to connect

I would probably stand or if a table near the entrance sit at a table and watch for an older and younger man coming in together, not being shy I would ask the combo arriving Hi, are you John & Ted?

I actually was in a large airport, had not seen my great nephew since he was 3, a boy was walking towards me and I said Bob? with a question in my voice... he said no he wasn't Bob and I said oh, sorry, and we both continued on our way.
