With christmas just days away and the new year i still to walk independantly. i have managed to about 15meters without assistance 3 or 4 times now with my wife walking behind me. i've had no slip ups so it's a start. my goal now is to be able to stand up by myself and do the laps without assistance. so who needs christmas presents, if i can safely walk by myself that is all i won't.

so i hope everybody has a wonderful christmas and new year and don't give up hope

I walk around in the house without my cane, there is so many things for me to grab onto. It has helped me carry foods to the microwave for heating, without using my cane in the strong hand.

That may help you in confidence as well.

A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you also. I started walking in the house without my cane, like Fred there was stuff I could reach for or hang on to. My walking improved a great deal the2 nd year. I still have some "wobbly" days, especially if I am tired or have over done.

Just keep practicing, but listen to your body, .... best wishes for you

Dear Ken--I think you should be re-named "Awesome Ken" for your determination. That is 3/4 the battle. :Clap-Hands:

I was so glad to be able to walk "unassisted" down the aisle at my son's wedding. I went arm-in-arm w/ my older son walking down the aisle.

Enjoy your Christmas w/ family and friends and may the New Year change all your hopes into reality. Take Care.
