Humans are a funny lot.
When the Humans species first came into being on this planet, it was in the mid latitudes, it was where it was the warmest, it had to be, life does not come from ice. As atoms heat they become more active just as when they are frozen they become more inactive.
Early humans tend to be dark skinned and hairy, it was best for survivaL, if in those early times a white skinned person were born, either Mother Nature or the Parents would have ended its life knowing that it would only suffer more because of the harsh environment. I mean, they didn't have access to North Face down or Polyester jackets to keep warm, they needed their hair and dark skin.
As the population grew and spread out, a group followed the herd northward and were trapped on a iceberg, trapped by the weather, they each needed to find a large beast and kill it so that they could climb into its skin and keep warm, to eat of its flesh and to drink its blood. Many did not survive. After wearing dead animal hides for hundreds of thousands of years, pigment lightens, hair recesses because hair tends not to grow where it is already warm, that' why I don't wear a hat, I have hair.
The last time I sat in a Barber's Chair was 1969, I quit having it cut a few years earlier, Summer of 1967 to be exact. I went from wearing a 3 piece suit, hard shoes, shaving M-F, using an alarm clock, party life to a Flower Child of the Hippie Generation. I didn't even know Woodstock took place until a month later at a El Rancho Super Market in Flagstaff, Arizona, it was featured on the cover of either Life or Look Magazine. I leafed through the pages and saw all the muddy people who looked happy.
Girlfriend and I were running a Trout Farm near Sedona, Arizona, in Oak Creek Canyon. We were learning how to make babies, we practiced quite often, we have 9 children, it worked.
No bad apples in the bunch, Daughter Lelania * and Husband live kitty cornered across the street with their 2 children, a boy and a girl, they all are beautiful. Directly behind her on the next street over, about 300 steps from us is Daughter Melody, her very nice boy friend/husband and our granddaughter Raina Rose.
The other children, another Granddaughter live reasonably close, the furthest one 15 miles.
*Daughter Lelania took her name from a song by Sixties singer Donovan of that name.
