Kyle gets a visitor...

Hi Everyone

I checked in with the J room and found a post that Darlene (Kyle's mom) had posted today.

Here it is:

Darlene Jay wrote

HELLO EVERYONE, IT IS ANOTHER DAY OF KYLE NOT FEELING WELL. HE HAD A ROUGH EVENING WITH ALOT OF PAIN AND ACID REFLUX A BIT BETTER TODAY. THE GI SPECIALISTS ARE COMING TO SEE KYLE AND SEE IF NEED TO SCOPE TO MAKE SURE NO BLEED. WE ARE PRETTY SURE THERE ISN'T BUT JUST TO BE SAFE. HOPEFULLY TOMORROW WILL BE A BETTER DAY.

Although Darlene doesn't mention it in her post I got an email from her last night. It was just a short one line email but from it I gathered that our very own Dr. Shawn Jennings had dropped by for a visit.

Darlene said that Kyle was all smiles about Shawn's visit so I hope that it was an encouragement to Kyle.

I can't think of a better role model for Kyle as Shawn also suffered a brain stem stroke in about 1997.

Well as Darlene says we all hope that tomorrow will be a better day.

Smiles :)

Gary

ps Darlene made me a FaceBook friend to her today. I had sent her an email last night thanking her for putting me on her email distribution list.

Gary:

thanks for update. as we all know initial hospital days are full of roller coster rides, things starts to get stabilized once you move to rehab hospital, and the journey in developing new you begins once you come home. so Kyle still has long way to go.

I hope for his strength & courage to get through thi initial difficult time in his life.

Gary,

Thank you for this new update. I'm glad Dr, Shawn was able to visit Kyle. It would be nice if we were able to go and visit him as well as added proof that life does go on after stroke.

Unfortunately, as many know, pain is part of our lives post stroke. Hope they get his pain managed quickly so it doesn't interfere in his continued recovery. Each day forward is a day towards recovery and independence.
