Looks an awful lot more inviting than mine which is covered with snow and ice and probably frozen solid to the bottom. That hot tub looks way too good from 15 degrees. Don't be surprised to find us all in it.

Things are improving here. Weather warming into the fortys, most of the snow melted. Still no electricity although Paula got hers back last night. The good news is that Comcast came back up this morning, and since we have a generator I'm back online!!! YAY!!!

Our kids go back to school Tuesday, so yay for that, too!

Little brother is happy cause he's not gonna have to miss the Super Bowl after all. Could that be why Comcast was working so hard to restore service?

All sounds good but we've got overwhelming cleanup facing us. Our yard, Mom's, Sondra's. Pictures can't begin to convey the enormity of the whole mess. Minor damages to our houses, but the landscaping is changed forever. Sondra's beautiful fifty year old pecan trees are no more. Mom's pine trees won't be shedding pine cones anymore. There will be considerably fewer leaves to rake next fall. State of emergency doesn't begin to expain it.

We've been better off than most. We have a gas fireplace so we've had heat and hot water all along, and we have a generator, so have had a couple lights and been able to cook by using small appliances. So I guess you could say we've been in survival mode, but functional. Ha!
