I loved your Hall mark card idea. I would buy your funny ones for my anniversary. you know how I view my stroke anniversary. I celebrate as my valentine's day. that day I realized power of my soulmate's love & I am thankful for getting this chance to show & appreciate my family that day.

My official "anniversary" is New Year's Day though my symptoms (though not typical stroke symptoms) started New Year's Eve. A the 1 year mark by daughter and I both held our breaths just waiting. This past New Years was my 4th. We don't throw huge parties or anything but look at it as a day of reflection and appreciation that I'm still here and don't need the “Through space and time, our spirits float; but today marks the day you missed the boat!” card.

Gene, you are so very twisted! I sure do miss that wicked sense of humor. Thank you for blogging, its so nice to keep up with you (not that anyone in our family could) I wish that I had just a drop of your ability to put your thoughts into words, you get that from mom I guess. You are an amazing big brother.

WOW! Man, you are good! Since you thought of it, why not create it? [ha] I think you are right on about recognizing those anniversaries and a fun way would be the way to go! You could call August 29th your own "personal holiday". I'm having visions of that picture you posted lounging in your backyard. Remember? Winter in California? Sigh!!! Cookout in your own backyard sounds like a heavenly way to commemorate, give thanks, and celebrate all rolled up in one. Invite as few or as many as you want. Lots of people love you, you know, me included.
