TRUE STORY
"Years ago in the deep South, late at night, an older African American woman was standing on the side of a road, trying to endure a violent thunderstorm. Her car had broken down, and she desperately needed a ride. Her clothes became soaking wet, as she unsuccessfully tried to get someone to stop. Then, an almost unheard of thing, in those days of racial conflict,happened.
A young white man stopped, took her to safety, assisted her, and paid for her taxi ride. As she profusely thanked him, she took the time to write down his name and address. Several days later; there was a large console television delivered to the young man's home. A special not was attached that read:
"Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway me that dark and dangerous night. That storm drenched not only my spirit as well. Then you stopped and so compassionately helped me. Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying husband's bedside just before he died. God bless you for helping me, and unselfishly serving others.
