  6. Thank you for this insight as I feel is going through a plateau at the moment
  7. Fred, I have paradroxsml atrial fibrillation, which means intermittent and generally resolves itself but still my heart beat out of rhythm for several hours or sometimes just minutes. It is a horrible uncomfortable feeling. I am on Coumadin and the Dr. prescribed the Cardizem. I also have asthma as well and for that I am one theophylline and I've been on theophylline for 30+ years. Here lies the problem, the asthma drugs control the asthma but they contribute to the irregular heartbeat. I cannot take Cardizem and the theophylline as they interact. I am kind of stuck. My pharmacist is researching for me now for channel blocker that can work well with the theophylline. So I my fingers crossed. Each episode of atrial fibrillation puts me at risk of stroke. Hugs Linda

  10. ok i am confused here racheal and sebi......are you the same person ?
  11. I wish i could find the inner peace you have. you are a very strong person. i don't let many people know how insure i feel but on this site......i feel comfortable because so many of us have the same inner struggles. i do not mean to be so whiney all the time.
  12. Thanks Debbie, by the way are you a nurse? I am only on Coumadin and not any rate control yet because of my asthma medications. I could be out for minutes or for hours but it generally reverts back to on its own. I just lay down and relax and watch TV and wait for it to come back. Oh yeah a lot of anxiety with it but that is expected. The irregular rhythm gives me a nervous stomach anyway.
  13. I think that's because the doctors pound the fear into your head. The neurologist at the hospital told me I may not be so lucky next time that I could land up with a feeding tube in a diaper! Nice bedside manner. I have never smoked I don't drink I don't add salt my food my blood pressure stable but I could afford to lose some weight. I confess... I should have been more active and exercise more but holy crap why would this guy say something like that me? Scared the daylights out of me!
  14. I noticed on this forum no one talks about the fear of having a second stroke. I had my stroke because of atrial fib and is still not well controlled but I'm on Coumadin to keep my blood thin. When I discovered my stroke, the CT scan showed I had to previous small ones, I did not even know of. I worry a lot. What are others thoughts on this? I tried to be positive but the thought does haunt me. I know people on this forum have had multiple strokes, I would like to hear their stories and the time lapse between. Is there a time frame when you start feeling a little more secure? Hugs, Linda
