June of 2005 I received a phone call at 1:10 am. The voice on the other end of the phone was telling they had my mom over for dinner and she fell and had a stroke. She was in ICU in a hospital in California and I needed to come immediately. My husband had just left for a business trip to Europe and I was all alone.
