Patti: I am thrilled, as you are, for your son. I understand how difficult it was for you to see him go, but I commend your ability to send him off with a smile, love and best wishes. He too is feeling apprehension as to leaving his Mom. But you have done a wonderful thing in encouraging and assuring him that you will be fine.

I have a good suggestion for you for one day's project. Locate on outlet in the house, within reach of where you rest. Plug your cell phone charger in. When you are sitting: reading, watching TV; plug the phone in to be sure it is always charged but also within reach. Go through your Girlie stuff. Find a small purse or tote that will fit over your neck without choking you. Find your wallet: photo ID, insurance card and one credit card come out of the wallet and go into the tote along with your cell phone. This is around your neck all the time. At bedtime, phone gets put next to you and tote stays on bed with you.

Next couple of weeks you will be busy sorting out, cleaning, rearranging and you know this will be exhausting and take time, so please schedule it around your Stroke Club and work so that you have down time after that.

If you are comfortable taking the bus, find a local beauty shop and consider an outing to get your hair cut. There may also be a Dollar Store nearby where you would have a blast. You could have nice new placemats and napkins for hubby's night home, you might find some stuff that could help you in the kitchen, some nice new hand towels for a BR spruce.

Plan your week: put Stroke Support and work days in first. Plan down time mornings the days after. Work in the house or yard, read, relax, recoup. Consider doing some baking or soup making to get some stuff in the freezer for hubby's weekends. Maybe a bread-making machine. Make sure you do your exercises and read every day. Then on the free days, plan a jaunt via the bus.

Once you are secure in knowing that you have taken care of the safety issues best you can, you may find that you will enjoy this time until things begin to move forward towards the relocation to Florida. Let us know and try to relax and enjoy this time best you can. Debbie

Patti:

I agree with Debbie fully. It is normal to feel anxious when our kids fly out of nest for first time, but as a parent its our responsibility to give them little nudge over cliff so that they learn to fly. have a routine for you for every day & you will not feel bored, you will actually look forward to your routine may it be exercise , reading, cooking or any other work.
