Larry's sleep test

Well Larry finally completed his sleep study Tuesday night. (I hope). This was the second go around as they did not get enough data the first time. This time they gave him Ambien and tried a couple of CPAP masks on him while he slept. The tech this time around had been doing sleep studies since 1987. I knew she was in control and to stay out of her way while she prepared Larry for his sleep. The room was warmer and much nicer this time. I had a hospital bed and stayed in the room with Larry. As I was told, sleep techs are not allowed to help with potty breaks, although she had to come in anyway to hold up the wires. There is a strap that can be used for keeping your mouth shut to encourage breathing through the nose. Larry leaves his mouth open at times. It is all a very complicated and technical study. The specialist said the mask and things have improved a lot over the years. I hope this works for Larry and he is able to get better sleep at night. I think he did well and was very cooperative. I may be the one to be sleep deprived now.

I go for a follow up today to the plastic surgeon on my nose. I'm still having trouble breathing myself! After this, we should now have a little "breather" from all the Dr. appts. and tests.

Weather has been warm and nice but today rainy and cold. The leaves have completely covered my lawn and driveway. I hope our lawn man can get them before the next rain. Hopefully, the snow will stay south of us!

Julie, glad all went well and you had an expereinced person with you and Larry this time. I think that makes a difference. Good luck with doing your own adjustments when the time comes.

Sleep deprivation is no good so concentrate on getting the rest you need. Housework and lawnwork will wait.

Yes, sit back and smell those last sweet roses, not a bad time to enjoy the last of the summer foods before it is soup and toast again.
