SOMETHING THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOUi know that since your stroke you do tend to get really tired and very fast well the same happened to me as you know my goal is to run a marathon so i am training to walk a very long way and this is my story i started to walk just once a day and then i use to rest on the bench to get my breath i was very tired but then i didn"t feel like i was ready to increased my distancebut then i got to thinking well you know if i don"t rest on the bench on my half way point i won"t have to increase my walk i can do the same walk distance but just don"t rest before on my daily walks it took me about 10 minutes to do that so i decided tonot rest and tosee how i feel well i walk straight past the bench where i usualy sit and just keep right on walking now i was tired very tired but i did it and then i decided that i will just have to increase my walk and still not rest if i want to walk in the m,arathon i need endurance so i decided to change my route and now the walk took me 1hour and 40 minutes so it"s still not the marathon distance but i just felt like i should try i really had a tough go i was very tired i almost gave up i didn"t know if i would make it but i keep on going i got very exahusted but the point of my whole story is that i did it anfd yes it was hard for me but a marathon is my goal so nhow when i do that again it isn"t quite so hard i have now incorporateinto my daily walks from my house and onto the **beep** so i can tell you for sure that you can build your endurance by just doing more and more further and further now i don"t know what your goal is and i am not telling you to try to walk further and further that might not be what you want todo but i just wanted to let you know that your endurance and your ability to do it further does change i know because i did it and i wan"nt half as tired as i was when i first did it once you know what you want your goal to be you will know when you are ready to try to increase your distance i didn"t do it right away it was little by little step by step all the best to you in your goal and in reaching your goal and in your recovery

Lenny:

:congrats: every marathon starts with one foot infront of other that's how you finish the race. I am so happy for you.

Lennie, that is great! You are doing so well, motivating yourself to improve. I am trying to get Larry to just take BIGGER STEPS. He walks with baby steps but when I tell him to take bigger strides and walk "heel toe", he does. I just wish he would always remember to do this.

Keep up the good work.

Hooray for Lenny!

That is great! Something must be in the air, because while I don't plan on doing a marathon. I do want to walk more, just for health. You give me great hope that my endurance will increase. Lenny, you are always an inspiration and while I don't post often, I do check in on everyone several times a week. You go Guy.
