WELL AS YOU KNOW I AM NOW WALKINGtwice a day that is now my new goal and so i decided after going for a walk , on wednesday then i hop on my scooter and i went to physiotherapy and then i decided to go shopping for a dvd that i am looking for so i went to best buy and i askfor the dvd that i am looking for but they didn"nt carry that so they told me that future shop will prfobably have it soequiped only with ,mybioness and my scooter i went to future shop and to my dismay all they had was an esculator and i thought well how am i going to ride the esculator while on thescooter so even though i have never been able to ride up on the esculator i haven"t done that one for at least 11yearsi have always worried about getting off and landing on my face because of my slow feetwell i have learned since that walking as a goal help the feet speed up and gives you confidence so i parked my scooter in the hall way of future shop and keep it near the wall so my scooter wasnntin the way and i took my key with me and then i slowly but a little scared now begin to walk over toward the esculator :Nodding: and i grab the rail and i step onto the step and whish up i went and then all the time i was thinking o god now i did it now how doi get off of this thing as i saw the end of my trip ending and i just had to step of to the floor still scared and knowing that my feet really had to step quikly i just walk right off to the floor that i needed to get off and then only to find that future sjop doesn"t carry the dvd that i was looking for but then not liking what i just heard that we don"t carry that movie i thought oh no i still have to go down i could see my scooter but it was on the second floor and i was on top so i just repeat what i just did to gert onto my scooterbut i can now say i finally did it a new goal however iu still have to find the movie that i was looking for i was so proudof myself that i did oit witout hurting myself i just had to telleverybody about my first time and my new goal all the best to you

Lenny, that is a great accomplishment after all your hard work. You are a great role model for stroke survivors. The escalator is even hard for those who are not stroke survivors! :goodjob:

Lenny, I commend you in achieving such a big step in your recovery process! You already know so well recovery takes plenty of time and since your stroke some years has passed! I'm hoping to follow in your footsteps as I'm just now at 8 years recovering but not walking too good!

I do walk daily with my cane walking the dog and all over my back yard without any falls so far, thank God! My confidence is there but my paralyses is too! I suppose that part of my brain suffered severely that controlled my leg and knee muscles!

Before long you can sell me your scooter as you return to marathon running so keep on walking my friend and the Red Sox's will keep on winning games! They had a 11-3 run and that's great baseball!
