Hundreds of Run-a-muck kids and william in the pool...

I got off work at 2Pm and decided that I was going to go to the pool. I step into the house and tell William that I am going to the pool. He says, I'll go with you. I am shocked. I thought that he would stay home and just let me go. Well, I take him and Lo and behold the kids are all over the pool.

Lots of kids. They are in the summer kids program at the YMCA. William has to endure them for 20 minutes. They have to get out at 3PM. They are shouting and jumping and splashing as children do. William is hating it. He wants to leave. I tell him that he has to just stay for 15 minutes and the little kids will be gone. We make it. They leave ...we get to walk and do our routine. The children's program is dubbed the Runamuck program. I tell him the the run-a-muck kids are running a muck.

William didn't know what he was in for. I am really surprised that he made it. It was so noisy. Kids shouting and yelling and screaming and splashing. A stroke surivors nightmare. I am proud of him.

I did feel sorry for him. but, not sorry enough to let him skip the water once we were there.

We did get ice cream on the way home.

Work is settling down. I was having problems with a co-worker. That problem is being resolved.. She will be transferred out. But, the problems....and the extra stress of problems at work were not fun. I am glad that the problem is being resolved.

William is snoozing away the late afternoon. The pool made him exhausted. i will have to wake him up to take his evening pills.

Ruth: so happy to hear things are resolving at work for you. That is such a relief. I have always admired your willingness to adjust your employment to accomodate William's recovery. That was such a major decision and to have it make more stress and difficulty for you was just so discouraging. Pleased things are looking up.

That William. Never ceases to amaze. Good for him to volunteer to go to the pool. Sorry about the kid's program, but glad you stayed. It is always time consuming getting out, so the upside was being able to get the workout in. And a special treat!

Good week and thank you for sharing the good news. Debbie

no kidding-- i think of you and will often when i am on my way to the once a week therapy ( water)... wish i could do more but dan don't want to and honest to goodness i dont have the energy... work issues - they are the worst....... i don't miss that about work at all..... But i was a kinda a queen bee working with a lot of men so for the most part i just told them what was gonna happen and it happened....my co worker bought me a shirt once that said ---- I didnt say it was your fault -I said I would blame you..... I still wear it when ( now if) we happen to be going out for wings on weds nights ----.... - we always get a good laugh.... it's been a long time since i had that luxury ( outing with friends) as all of us caregivers know only to well..... Glad the co- worker issue is getting resolved you do not need one more thing in your life for sure... and William God bless him -- such a trooper--- wish dan could find that gumption nancyl

Gad it worked out ok. At my local pool they have a senior time. It is an hour when no one who is young is allowed in the pool. Check it out.

In some areas of towns the only pools open are at the Y's still some towns have the large pools/parks where people gather daily in this hot weather to cool down some!! We have two such pools here and they are full daily!

We had the drought in this area and a couple pools are closed now to conserve water they say!! I think there is a shortage of trained life guards as well!

Ha! Larry would not like the kids and splashing either. But then he is not big on the pool either. At least you can get in some exercise with William when you take him. All I can do is watch Larry exercise.

I'm glad you have the issue of your co-worker behind you. That was added stress you didn't need for sure.

Have a good weekend.
