Cool change
So nice to finally be able to open up and get some fresh air. I had a nice two hour lunch with a relative of my first late husband last week. It was nice to be able to catch up on all the relatives.
I was able to get Larry out for a short walk in the park over the weekend. I have to say I enjoyed it more. Whatever! We went to church Sat. evening and then received an invitation for dinner at Larry's daughter's home Sunday. His daughter and family live across the river in St. Charles County. This was our first time to try the new highway which saved us a lot less driving time. I don't like driving at night but we made it back before dark. Our son in law grilled steaks and when I saw how thick they were, I was worried with Larry's swallowing, but I cut his up in small bites and he did fine. He chastised me for monitoring his swallowing too much but I still worry, especially when he coughs. Well, somebody has to worry. His daughter's family has two dogs - a daschund and a chiwauwa (sp). The daschund, Sadie, is super hyper and wanted to jump on Larry's lap. Larry didn't like it. lol The other dog is cute but afraid of people. They are cute but I couldn't take the barking, etc. We love our quiet cats. lol
Our little grey cat has been throwing up every time he eats. He had some bad teeth and gums. I decided to take him to the vet today and he ended up staying. The vet kept him to do some blood work and then ended up pulling 5 teeth! Poor Furby. He did okay tho and I picked him up today at 6:00. He ate some tuna since he had not eaten since this morning, and then tomorrow I have to give him his antibiotics - that should be fun. I was going to get the carpeting cleaned but decided to wait until Furby stopped throwing up!
Tomorrow is car care day as it has to have an oil change and tire rotation. Larry reminds me of this. I will get a shuttle back and forth since it will be a 3 hr. wait.
I am hoping we will get to the Chinese Lantern Festival this week at the Botanical Gardens. If so, I will report on it. There are 26 towering silk lanterns which are illuminated at night. This is the first of its kind in the U.S.
Have a great week.
Julie
