I love reading Jean riva's blogs on different site, recently she wrote wonderful blog where quote of English author Neil Gaiman speaks volume to me, so here I quote it

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something. So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life. Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever."

Thanks Asha for the info about Jean when I came aboard here she and Sue were my favorite care givers to turn to for answers about what my condition might be like a few years from that time if I did all the things I had been told and instructed to do!

I said to myself if they can take care of their husbands when my wife returns to work I will do all the things for myself and try to get better and I did I listened to them every day as they were so positive with actions!

I knew she left Stroke Net just didn't know where she had gone nor did I know Don had passed and I'm sorry for her loss he was her great companion as Ray was to Sue and I hated to see him go too! But God knows what's best for all of us and none of us know when nor how!!!

BTW, I hope my mistakes are very few at my age so far so good but as you say things happen and usually does when we are least expecting them to happen! It's a new year and a long way to it's end if I'm still here it's what my God wanted for me, take care and be safe!!

This entry reminds me of a true story I was made aware of many years ago while serving on a local church board. The largest church in a mainline denomination in the USA was studied to find out how the growth occurred. What researchers found was that each department head was required to have at least two projects that FAILED each year to keep their job. That simple policy kept all departments constantly trying new things and the church continued to grow as a result. The analogy for us stroke survivors would be to always try new treatment options, some of which may work, some not. Long term readers will recall that shortly after my stroke I reported on many varied treatment options, some of which worked, some not. The main point to remember is that doing nothing is sure NOT to work.
