I Didn't Know My Own Strength

In my world, coffee is one of the major food groups. Imagine my displeasure when my expensive, gourmet coffee maker bought the farm a week before Christmas and of course since Christmas broke the bank, I waited until Jan. 1st to order a new one. I've been getting by in the meantime with instant. I remember a time that instant coffee tasted like something you could use for chemical warfare and even I admit, it has improved over time. Now it only tastes like someone wrung their dirty, sweaty socks into your coffee cup.

Just when I thought I might not survive, my new coffee maker arrived!! I'm so easily amused...and I just may croak anyway from caffeine overdose! But I'll be wearing a big satisfied smile.

I can relate. Coffee is one of the simple pleasures in my day. When coffeemaker goes out, Donna must find someone to watch Lauren TODAY so she can go get a replacement! So glad you have been saved by the UPS delivery. ~~Donna

Hmm... I think they do say coffee is actually good for you now. Maybe just not instant. I love coffee too, my Dad likes instant coffee, Folgers crystals. I wonder what the crystals do? LOL My daughter has a Breville, grinds and brews. I am stuck with the K cups. Of course when I am at work I get the gourmet coffee out of the huge machine. Now that is some baddd coffee.

The American Heart Association says two cups a day is good for your heart but The psychological Association says that any at all is bad for anxiety. Go figure! lol I'm going with the American Heart Association!

Donna, I probably would have done that in the past but right at Christmas and not driving anymore I use online ordering.

You have to do what you like most and for me I have to eat and drink what I like when I want it no matter what day it happen to be!! That's perhaps how you are with your coffee Anyway you are OK and healthy!!!

We each need that special thing that makes us feel 'pampered' amongst all the other crap going on around us - glad you have yours back!

I do drink instant, but do not tolerate all brands well. We used to drink Maxwell House, but it began to taste like burnt paper bags some years ago. We do enjoy Folgers instant, and since he's calls for it all day, I like the instant because it is far less caffeine then brewed, and easier on my stomach.

Just discovered that Irish Creame makes it even better!!!! LOL! I could not make it without my coffee!!! I think I have every type of coffe maker imaginable in my kitchen! One for the stove top that perculates, a kureg that makes one cup at a time and the good ole auto drip! Never gonna have to drink instant!!! Not an option in this house!!! LOL

I have an old fashioned percolator, and sometimes enjoy hearing it. But oddly, the best coffee it ever has made was when I just put water and the instant coffee in it!
