Yet another transition

Been an odd couple of weeks since the Birthday celebration.

Bruce has met with his new PCP. They know each other socially - she is on staff at my SNF. But in Bruce's words "this is a good match" - gotta luv him. She is unwilling at this time to stop his antidepressant and wants to relive the body scan four years ago that showed something on his Pancreaus. Also she wants to add a Statin. This is apparently common stroke protocol now. But I wanted a blood test first.

Friday, poor Bruce fasted until I got home at 1pm. It is really nice that Doctor offered a blood draw at home. It is bitter cold here, but if they don't show, not much help. It was 3 below the day of his appointment with the PCP. Bruce is angsting with the scarf and mitten on his right hand. Refused his coat - wanted his sweatshirt. This is not a jump out of a warm truck, run up some stairs and you are in the building. I have to unload him, take him across a parking lot, up a ramp. And as I said to others here, I don't need Adult Protective Services calling -LOL.

Kira had some bad news at the Vets. Her calcium level has jumped and none of this is good news. She goes back next week for further testing. In the meantime, Bruce and I just try to pay more attention to her.

Dear Mary Beth was in an accident. She is fine, just some bruises. Car needed some work and her employer just lost a major contract, so her job is in jeopardy. Our dear senior cousin passed last week. Neither of us could attend the services, but our brothers did represent the family.

Work has been horrible, so it is time to hunker down. Been working on some house clean out. This involves going easy with Bruce. He knows my game plan is the stereo and vinyl records out by Summer. So we are working on clothing and books in the attic. Get the valuable stuff into the attic, basement cleanout. My biggest challenge will be the wood stove and his musical equipment. Maybe by Fall. All worth money, so it will take some doing.

Have not been as active here as I have in the past. Taxes will be very different this year as we are now married and made some major financial changes. I want to have everything in order for the CPA early February. Caregiver Pema will be gone for February. Returning to India for some family time, so our entire schedule is going to change.

Just doing some recentering, considering priorities. Best to all, Debbie

Debbie: project for Bruce- sometime ago I bought a unit that plays vinyl , cassetes. & has a cd drive I am able to record the old media to cd's - which is good until progress finds a newer & better medium to which to record our music. I just put my record cassette on to play & basically hit a record button. I have to be around at the end to start a process that properly creates the tracks on the cd. I'm so busy with my office work & projects - I haven't gotten many done- I'd love to before we downsize & move 8-10 years. the machine was just a ceapie from sears special

He might have fun looking into something like that

"This is a good match" good for you and Bruce. How many survivors can say that about their doctor? Bruce will most likely take her words of advice to heart. You have a lot of changes going on "Mrs. Sparks" lol, and, as usual you handle them to the best of your ability.

See you in chat.
