Patience - it does pay!

I learned patience many years ago. Although I am a Reiki practioner and supposed to be able to practice anywhere, my school had closed and I went to another place where only their students could give the service. Because they always had many more guests than practioners, we were always told that we would learn patience; that all would receive the service but perhaps not first but after. When I had my stroke this training came in very handy. Patience is essential. While I was fortunate and my recovery was considerably quick and I am satisfied, I would still welcome any more that may come and I have the patience to deal with that. Now comes the good part. Patience has paid off yet again. In January 2004, I had an appointment with my Family Practice Dr. When I went to pay (in an office with many workers) I was asked if I wanted to pay it all. I said yes, thinking $9-10.00 and was told it was $100. I asked about that because his charge is somewhere at about $60-70. I was told it was the deductible (Medicare was that in 2004) So I said ok, paid and left. A few weeks later I went to my neurologist whose office (just a nurse/receptionist working there) says don't pay until you get a notice from Medicare. A few months later, I get the statement from Medicare and it says I owe the neurologist the full amount and there was no listinng for the FP visit showing I had paid the deductible. So I called medicare and asked what happened. They said they never received any paperwork and that I must pay the neurologist and get the money back from the FP. Have you ever heard of a Dr. giving you money and not the other way around? So I made copies of everything and sent it to the FP office and said it appears that they didn't send in the paper work. I heard and received nothing. Comes January 2005 and I had enough sense to make my neurologist appointment first and I tell the people in the FP office that I feel I have a credit and am not going too pay even the 20%. Well, of course they "didn't know" etc. but I paid the small amount and they made copies and would call me. No call - but with only one line and me being on-line it's possible not to get a call. Well, it's time to make another appt. and this is bothering me since I feel I'm really being ------- and am thinking I'm going to have to start over again but yesterday (almost 1-1/2 years later) I got a refund check of $90 and change! Patience! it's paid off again. happydance.gif

PHYL,

FILL UP THE CAR AND IF THERE'S ANYTHING LEFT, GO OUT AND CELEBRATE. I REMEMBER THE TIME I HAD A BUSINESS IRS AUDIT. THEY CLAIMED I OWED $1200.00. AFTER 5 HOURS OF EXPLAINING MY CASE, THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD TO SEND EVERYTHING TO THE REGIONAL OFFICE. THREE MONTHS LATER I GOT A LETTER AND CHECK FOR $3700.00. SEEMS SOMEONE MISCODED AN ENTRY IN THE COMPUTER.

ENJOY,
