Today on the bus,actually waiting for the bus I struck up a conversation with a man with ovivious visual impairment, he uses a white cane. We rode the bus to the downtown transfer point. I asked if he needed assistance getting to his next bus he said "that would be great. Let me put my hand on your shoulder, then he said you are one tall f%%%%er.". I asked permission to ask a question. I asked if he was totally blind. Yes the result of a car accident 22 years ago. I said you seem to get around pretty well. He said," because of wonderful people like you offering help I get around.

I said as a result of the stroke I'm legally blind. But right now I can see straight ahead and I can walk so I can help and I'll offer again if I see you around.

I told him I couldn't see him beside me but I knew he was still there because his hand was still on my shoulder. I said I lost my prepferal vision. He that's just enough to mess with you.

Keep your positive outlook and things will be fine.

I only question which blind person was helping which blind person? Another beautiful friendship forged.
