Its so unbelievable things I am learning so many new & great things about myself as I am getting older & wiser. few years ago kido was going through rough patch with his best friend & he was feeling very sad & lonely. Ofcourse he found another great set of friends though I was telling him about how I experienced same things when I was in college, I was so upset during that time period that my mom came to our college & requested class change for me, yes it was embarrassing but once it was accomplished I ended up finding another great set of friends & ended up having so much fun during my college years. recently thanks to internet I reconnected with first set of friends, & while talking with them again she mentioned how she never had as much fun after I left the group. ofcourse my story was different I ended up meeting another new set & ended up having as much fun. So here comes my AHA moment while recounting my story to kido, thats its not any one else which brings joy in your life, its all with in you, and youcan have fun wherever you go or whoever you meet. I know thats what happened with me

Ray and I lost a lot of friends because of his strokes but we found some too, especially here at Strokenet.  So yes, every lost friendship group can result in gaining another group that understands you better.

My mom always said to me when you are young some kids play with you and some don't for various reasons so leave them alone if they don't want you as a friend in the neighborhood... Many of them went to jail some got killed while some just vanished but many of them are now been gone and I'm still here...... My lesson learned and remembered......

Asha thanks for sharing, I agree most joy come with a positive attitude and perspective, be well my friend as we add days, weeks, months and even years to our life we do become wiser.  the real blessing is when the kids realize that.

I have a bookmarker given to me that says "you bring the fun with you" and I think that we must believe in our value and believe we make a difference. Then we bring much wherever we go. And we always find strangers who just are not friends yet and that is an old Irish sayin.

Well said Asha. I am also much wiser through age and having my stroke.  I am much calmer,

do not get so upset about small stuff. After the stroke, I lost friends, that really were not my friends. Now I have met people who are true, don't care wheather I have had a stroke or not.
