My New Splint

SassyBetsy

I got my splint for my left thumb and wrist this morning. My therapist suggested one with laces for a nice adjustable fit but my insurance told me only velcro was covered. The place told me they only carried the velcro type. Well I am wearing the one they gave me and it has laces connected to a velcro tab that is pulled tight and fastened. What kind of miscommunication is that? I am blessed! The only difference is this one has metal in it and offers max support and is longer. So I asked insurance to consider paying for the lighter more flexible one that my therapist says will be better for daytime use. My left thumb tendons are shot because of using the walker. My right hand is numb, pain free and may not be doing much work load as the left one. So I am now one handed to let it rest and heal. Ok so this is indeed a new world.

With all the adjustments we have to make why can't the insurance companies make some too!

Hope it helps with your ongoing Recovery

Great news
