There is a woman in my room that isnt eating because of bad teeth. They took her to dentist but she wont open. She cant speak due to stroke. So she gets pureed food but refuses it. She nearly always drinks her milk and water. So I told cna to put soup in the milk glass. Cool of course. She drank 2 whole bowls of soup .No one could believe it. The cna told the kitchen to send pureed stuff in glasses and soup in mugs. She is thrilled to chart it that she got the woman to eat. I am thrilled the woman downed all that soup.

This morning I told the nurse that the woman pushes the tray away because she does not like it in front of her.It feels right in her face when she lies in bed. I told nurse she drank 2 bowls of soup so nurse fed her. She gave her eggs. I said nonono she has to drink it. So she drank oatmeal. The nurse went all determined to get all cnas to feed her and not just take tray away when she pushes tray. She said this woman is starving and we need to feed her. I said she could have lots of things like a smoothy pureed to drink. The nurse passed the word.

I am so happy someone listened to me. I have watched them bring in the tray and then take it away saying she will not eat.

But I saw her family got her to eat pudding. The family asked me to tell them. But I am ignored. Once told it is not my business. But I keep trying to tell different people. This time the other cna listened and she drank soup. So maybe they will give her drinkable foods and she will stop starving. Maybe she will be dressed up and taken out of this room to sit out like other patients.

Then tonight the cna said she needed liquids thickened and worried she would choke. He removed the tray after she drank the water and milk. He said he would need to check with the nurse before giving her soup in a mug. He never returned.

I hope someone will have some sense and feed her nourishing soup Or other foods but so far nothing.
