I Reported a Nurse

Before breakfast coffee, this nurse was giving residents a hard time. Then she came in my room saying she was only human and that apparently many residents did not think she could do her job. She said she felt like walking off the job and that I was a big contributor. I apologized but she wanted to vent not communicate. She had overdosed me,caused me to miss appointments, checked my blood sugar while I slept, and was defensive about my questions. She said she would return with insulin but 3 hours after breakfast she was no show and out arguing with other residents. I needed a pain pill. I did not care about retaliation. I reported not getting insulin to director of nursing along with her postal burnout stuff. I said I never wanted her to be my nurse because she stated she blamed me and mistakes are made when someone feels burnt out. Plus I feared retaliation for speaking up.

The lady across the hall also talked to the director. My roomie said nothing about nothing. Even though this nurse was sarcastic to her crazy rambling worries.

I was promised she would not be back today but I said I never want her again. I am burning out myself here..

The woman wastes away while family and cna blame each other.

I am blamed roomie is cold from the AC while she sits soaked in pee. She smells. She says she cannot be changed or they will run out of diapers. She refuses showers saying the cna will drop her because they are skinny.

I escape to appointments.

I leave to visit friends here. No

Pam find what escapes you can, nursing homes seem a hotbed of gossip, retaliation and unrest sometimes so listening to a meditation tape, a sit outside in a sheltered spot, anything you can think of that can be used as an escape hatch is good. Keep smiling if you can, if not just keep plodding along and life will change again.

I pray I never have to be put in a home and can stay in my home until I'm dead of course every person can't say that I know because all situations are different in many ways.... In so many cases we have to take what we are given and have no choices....

There are many disabled veterans in the VA nursing homes across America with little or no family members alive that could take then in their homes..... To many cases to count..... I pray the best for you  Pam do what you can....

Good for you stand up for yourself.

If you believe you are the recipient of retaliation report that is well.

If things don't improve demand to talk to the licensing consultant for the state.

If you have questions about that license in consulting P send me a private message I have some ideas.

Praying for you be blessed and be a blessing or should I say continue to be a blessing to your fellow inmates.

Pam, The thing about incompetent people is that they rarely know that they are incompetent; and if they do know, they don't care. So, it's necessary for others to watch them, and, report their incompetency to their superiors in order to make them aware of the incompetent ones actions before that person does some real harm to someone. You had no choice but to report her. And, now, the responsibility for doing anything about her incompetence is right where it needs to be- on the shoulders of her boss.    Becky

Thank you for your support.

Another resident reported her as well. I was told by the director of nursing that I would never have to deal with that anymore. I do not know what that means. I have not seen her around but I do not know if she will be back.
