Reason for NOT blogging

Hello All:

Rant-On.gif

I guess everyone is wondering why I haven't 'blogged' in awhile? Or why I haven't responded to other people who have 'blogged'? Am I too busy? Mabe I don't care anymore? I am not making excuses. I am having a 'noone-reads-and-responds-to-my-blogs day.

Now wait, I am not 'picking' on anyone. I am not 'holding a grudge' towards anybody. I AM just doing as the 'sign' up above says. I think I have that privilege.

All the 'blogs' that I read on here, tells the 'stories' of people (survivors and care givers) who have made GREAT strides in their recovery. And people read them, offer encouragement, respond back with a 'response blog'. Which is great. I DON'T HAVE any exciting 'recovery stories to write about. The only things that I can write about are things that I do, as a volunteer, or events I go to or

'exchanging' recipes.

When I do 'blog' I don't get many responses, nor do I have any idea how many people read BUT DON'T write a response. I know this 'blog' is trivial and people will probably think I'm a looney-case'. OH WELL, I'm a stroke survivor, and I think I have the 'right' to have a 'bad hair (I'm bald) day'.

Okay, I feel better.

PS: If I 'offended anyone, hurt anyone's feeling, was too harsh, or you could care less what I 'post', I offer my sincere apologizes.

Hi ChefDenny,

Why would the thought of possibly being a looney-case even cross your mind!? I am quite certain that this is not the case and that no one has ever thought that about you!

Blog when you *feel* like blogging. That's the important thing!

God Bless you ChefDenny....

BTW if you happen to have a tastyy recipe for cream of carrot soup, I'd love if you could share one cloud9.gif THANKS flowers.gif

HEY CHEF DENNY,

NOT EVERYDAY IS PERFECT. NOT EVERYDAY DO WE SEE ANY IMPROVEMENT. NOT EVERYDAY ARE WE REQUIRED WRITE, READ, OR RESPOND TO BLOGS.

BUT IN THIS COMMUNITY OF OURS, WE LISTEN, ENCOURAGE, AND TELL EACH OTHER SOMETHING ABOUT OUR LIVES. WE GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER JUST A LITTLE BETTER. SOMETIMES THINGS ARE NOT VERBALIZED HERE, BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN WE DON'T CARE. WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GET SO MUCH CARING AND ENCOURAGEMENT FROM PEOPLE YOU NEVER MET, AND WILL PROBABLY NEVER MEET?

REGARDS,

Denny,

Blogging is not the same as posting. Blogs are personal journals for self grow or venting or recording process. Posting is for asking for support and giving it. It's nice to get comments, but that is not suppose to be the goal of blogging. In some blog communities it's considered the polite thing to do to leave a comment (just a few words) when you read one, but here I think we go deeper into the soul searching than most so comments are more difficult to make---we're too use to trying to give support rather than just say, "I was here and read you" kind of thing.

I've written many, many blogs where I didn't get a single comment and sometimes I haven't commented on someone else's because it seemed almost an invasion of their privacy. Now, we're also getting so many bloggers that it's hard enough just to get through reading them all let alone leave comments.

Thanks for setting me straight. I guess I was expecting too much, but what Jean said IS TRUE. Thank you Jean, for 'setting me straight'.

Hey Denney;

Write in your blog whatever you want. It's your blog after all biggrin.gif .

And as proof your blog is read: As of 7/13/05 11:13AM EST you've made 17 entries, have had 219 views and 46 comments.

Denny,

I thought of another reason, after I commented above, on how we use our blogs. Often times in chat something will come up that is too long to write about there so we'll say, "I'll blog it" or "I blogged about that already" and then we have somewhere to send someone to look. It's very handy for stuff like that. I've sent a few people to mine to filter by speech issues and I know you'd done the same with recipes. (By the way, the punch and jello turned out great!)
