wow stan,

what an insightful blog!!! and so so so true!!!! many times we don't stop and think what others have lost when we complain about our own situations, i am certainly one of those guilty people i am ashamed to admit.

thanks for making me stop and think about the horrid realities of those who lost property and their VERY LIVES!!!!!!!!!

I agree with both of you. As a stroke survivor I lost some motion on the left of my body. I now have a caregiver wife who lost her father. Her mom and other family members are here with us.

Still others lost everything, including their lives, their caregivers are complete strangers and they only got the clothes on their backs and hopes for the future.

I'm thankful to have survived and alive, therefore I can't get depressed because, in my case, I feel blessed. I'm not doing great, still back in therapy, hurt daily, had a TIA recently, but I'm still alive.

We have faith, we pray daily, jesus did and he died very young for our sins. Who are we?

I lost my new home due to stroke.

I do have a place to live.food, clothes and some support.

I can relate to the people in New Orleans, but I know that their tragedies are much more than mine.

There is always people who have greater or lesser than ourselves.

As survivors we have to be happy with what we have and live with the losses.

I think most people at this point realize America is not immune from disasters. Many states include Washington are taking in survivors and people have rallied to raise money, clothes and supplies. Other countries are helping us out now too.

Yes we have much to be thankful for, and if we can do something, even to offer prayers we should stop and reflect on what we have and Thank God..and also prayers to those out helping with the rescue and aiding the survivors.
