RINGING TELEPHONES

I KNOW I HAVE BLOGGED ABOUT THIS BEFORE, BUT IT GETS ON MY NERVES SO MUCH, HERE GOES AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! dry.gif

I HAVE NEVER LIKED THE HIGH PITCH SOUND OF A RINGING TELEPHONE AND EVEN MORE SO NOW THAN EVER BEFORE!!!!!! IT PIERCES THROUGH MY BRAIN LIKE A SHARP STICK IN THE EYE!!!!!! angry.gif THAT'S WHY MY CELL HAS A SOFT TONE AND EVERYONE I LIKE, AND DON'T LIKE, IS PROGRAMMED IN SO IT WILL SAY"MARY CALLING" AND I CAN CHOOSE NOT TO ANSWER IT IF I SO DESIRE.

HOWEVER AT THE OFFICE, I DO NOT HAVE THAT LUXURY. WHEN I AM HERE ALONE, I LET IT GO TO VOICE MAIL, CHECK AND RETRIEVE MY MESSAGES AND LET THE GUYS CHECK THEIR OWN LATER. HOWEVER, WHEN ANYONE ELSE IS HERE, ESPECIALLY DADDY, IT IS A SPECIAL TREAT FOR THEM TO YELL OUT MY NAME ALL DAY WHICH IS EVEN WORSE!!!!!!!!!! bop.gif

PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND OR CARE, I'M NOT SURE WHICH, THAT EVERYTIME I HAVE TO ANSWER THAT DAMNED PHONE, IT BREAKS MY CONCENTRATION AND TAKES ME TEN MINUTES TO "RE-GROUP" AND SLOWS ME UP JUST THAT MUCH FURTHER. HAVE I TOLD THEM? YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES, YET THEY STILL CALL. MOST OF THE TIME IT IS UNNECESSARY CALLS!!!!!!!!!! blush.gif

THEY WILL SAY" DID YOU EMAIL THAT APPRAISAL YET?". I SAY" HAVE YOU CHECKED YOUR EMAIL?" THEM "NO". THEN I SAY" CHECK IT THEN, YOU HAVE IT!!!!!!!!". I SWEAR THEY HAVE THIS BURNING DESIRE TO TORTURE ME WITH THEIR NEEDLESS , MINDLESS, TIME WASTING "YAK YAK" AMD IT ANNOYS ME SO MUCH I CAN'T BEAR IT SOME DAYS!!!! whoosh.gif

TODAY IS WORSE THAN USUAL BECAUSE OF THE HOLIDAY. THEY ARE ALL "PANIC STRICKEN" TO MEET THEIR LOAN QUOTAS AND PUT FURTHER UN-NEEDED PRESSURE ON ME!!!!!! THAT, IN TANDOM WITH I'LL BE OUT ALL WEEK IN CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES HAS THEM IN A STATE OF PANIC!!!!! ALSO, THE MORE SHORT WITH THEM AND DIRECT WITH THEM I GET, LKE " FIND SOMEONE ELSE, I CAN'T MEET YOUR NEEDS, THEY ARE TOO STRINGENT AND I'M BUSY". THE MORE WORK THEY SEND!!!!!!!! blush.gif

I CAN NOT WIN FOR LOSING!!!!!!! I DON'T EVER HAVE MY HOME PHONE CUT ON, BUT BEING AT MOM'S AND DAD'S OFF AND ON TILL I CAN GET THIS DIVORCE, IS MORE ANNOYING THAN WORK. THEY HAVE THREE PHONES WHICH RING CONSTANTLY AND THEY NEVER CAN FIND THE PHONES BECAUSE THEY JUST SIT THEM DOWN ANYWHERE RATHER BACK IN THE CHARGER, SO IN ADDITION TO THE INCESSANT RINGING, THEY ARE RUNNING AROUND SAYING" WHERE'S THE PHONE?" laugh.gif

I HAVE A DESIRE TO THROW ALL PHONES IN A BON FIRE AND WATCH THEM BURN!!!!!! I WANT TO SNATCH THEM OUT OF THE WALL AND THROW THEM ACROSS THE ROOM. DON'T PEOPLE HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO WHILE AT WORK THAN CALL AND BUG ME? WHEN DO THEY DO PAPER WORK, OR OTHER THINGS LIKE GO TO THE REST ROOM OR EAT? THEY ARE TOO BUSY CALLING ME ALL DAY!!!!!!!!! happydance.gif

OH WELL, PHONES THEY ARE A RINGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People may just want to have human interaction when they ask if you've sent the email yet.

I do understand the break in concentration and attempts to get back to what I was thinking problem...I had that before my stroke.

It's kind of like having to deal with a toddler who wants mommy's attention every 3 seconds. Or the child who 'acts up' only when you're on the phone.

I also have a problem with the telephone. I know what you mean by breaking the concentration. It is much harder to switch from one universe to another quickly when you have had a stroke.

I try to get people to send me emails. That way I am focused to answering emails and I have a extra minutes to shift from one universe to another. I'm with you about letting voice mail pick up phone calls. I do that all the time. Although we live in a world that seems to think things should happen 24/7 without delay that really isn't true. 99.999% of the time, people can wait at least a few hours.

I can defently feel your pain. My favorite call was a client arguing over how quickly I could get to unlock his car. I finally had to say "That time is from when I leave, which I can't do until you quit arguing about the time frame".

Sheesh, people.

Phones have become our "life lines" we do as much as we can by phone and now probably more with the price of gas.

People are "tuned" in to their own problelms and sometimes don't think of priorities or that the more you have to answer the phone the less you can get done. I totally understand how hard it is to get the concentration back now after stroke..but unfortunately the person on the other end of the line doesn't... and they are concerned about their home..their security..

Is there any way you could share taking phone calls..

Mary from 8 to 10, joey from 10 to 12..etc.. so everyone is assured of some time to do their paper work.
