Another, it's that time of year

It's here! I went into a grocery store yesterday to do my work and there it was CHRISTMAS! Oh they had items for Thanksgiving too, but gift items, lights, garlands for sale etc. were starting to push everything over. Even the sales paper you get when you walk in was full of Christmas. I supposed when you have to send packages - some overseas - it isn't really that far away.

Here, too, Phyllis. I really don't like Christmas in the stores before Halloween and that is true now. Some day we'll have Christmas year around!!! We have few stores here in Michigan that do just that and they're very popluar destination points.

Phyllis...don't even mention Christmas! Where has the year gone?

 

Several years ago, there was an article in the paper about some young couples with limited budgets who got the bright idea to reverse the holidays ; celebrate New Years FIRST., no crowds & overpriced dinners; then they would celebrate Christmas when all of the stores have their huge sales... why not??? The original Thanksgiving was in June 29th.

 

I'm content to have some snacks & a glass of wine in front of the fireplace & be thankful to be here.
