Decisions, decisions
There are so many things which have come up that I want to share with "my stroke family" that I don't know where to start. I lost to cyber space an answer to a letter. Guess the cyber God felt I wasn't using good judgement and deleted it. Perhaps if the topic comes comes up again, I'll step up on my soapbox.
Then there is sharing with you my happiness about my (Grand)Nephew, becoming the 2005 Enduro Champion of Dirt Biking. His picture adorns the Florida Dirt Biker (Magazine). I guess it from the southeat region. It set my heart affluter because he has matured into a real "hottie" and is movie star handsome. The nice part is he is unaffected.
Then, there was the Virginia Tech vs. Univ. of Miami (Florida) football game. UM (my Alma Mater defeated the unbeaten No. 3 team. They, of course, were not favored and it was a real upset. Did my heart good.
But, I guess I will write about a demo (6 hours standing) I did today. I worked 10 hours on Thursday - mostly on my feet. 8 hours Friday, also mostly on my feet and then the demo Sat. Do I ache? You betcha. Today is the beginning of another day and hopefully, I'll get enough rest before my neurology appt. tomorrow. LOL
But let me tell you about the demo. It was the most fun job of this type that I've done. A local grocery chain (Winn-Dixie) was having a sampling to get people to buy things for their holiday meals. I was the artifical crab and shrimp person. We had one in the bakery who had carrot cake and pumpkin something or other, one in produce who had cut up fruits and vegetables, one in deli who had sandwich snacks (quarter sandwiches) and cheese and they had Mum plants which they did not give to everyone but participated in the next part. It started at 11 am and went to 5 and every 15 minutes a free raffle was held and the winner received things like a shrimp tray, a vegetable tray, a cake etc. The manager was a fun gut and he would bring the coupons over 15 minutes before each particular drawing and they would be handed out. When it was over, he'd move to the next area. All of the food was delicious and 24 people went home with gifts. If you are in the south and there is a Winn Dixie, plan on doing your shopping next Saturday (it will be then also and 2 Sat. in December also - and oh, yes, a 4 hour one in Publix on the 17th of November. People who are well fed are happy people and I had a great time being part of it - and I'm going to be paid as well. It was lunchtime for everyone. I know I gave away approx 375 samples - many to the same people
