Busy Days

The days fly by........this weekend our oldest son and family will be here for an "early" Thanksgiving, the following week is Thanksgiving and our DIL's father and step mom will be here for four days, then the following week I leave for San Antonio for two weeks, for the birth of our DD's third little girl, back home on the 14th (our 37th wedding anniversary), DIL is having a Christmas appetizer party for 12 of her teacher friends, and Rolly and I will be doing all the food for her, then the following weekend is Christmas! Someone reminded me to breathe somewhere in between all these events!

We seem to be learning how to deal with Rolly and his mood swings, and I think he is getting a better handle on things himself. As everyone (people with or without strokes) do, he has good days and bad days. Yesterday he took a nap and just "checked out" for about a 4 hour stint in the bedroom, napping and watching TV by himself. He seems to need more quiet and solitude than he did before, some kind of sensory overload happens to him and he gets snappy at everyone. I'm glad he's learning to deal with it, as I'm the one who usually gets snapped at! (~_~)

He made chili for dinner Friday night, and everyone loved it (see Rolly's Recipes). Made him feel good that he can still cook and hasn't "lost" that skill.

Today we are going to go out for breakfast and then do a marathon shopping trip for this week, and also most of the non perishables for Thanksgiving. Want to go early before it gets too crazy out there!
